Our Tribe for example, we pre breed high lvl Spino eggs and then once pregnant we hatch and kill our own baby Spinos. Keeping an eye out for alphas is also a good idea. Spinos give more XP than any other creature on abberation except for alphas. If you're going for the kill method go along the rivers and kill Spinos.
